MONOCHROME PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF MONO AWARDS 2014 COMPETITION
London, UK (28 February 2015) – Photographer Mr Pierre Pellegrini of Switzerland was Awarded Honorable Mention in Fine Art for the winning entry Day Of Rain III at prestigious Monochrome Awards honouring Black & White Photography.
The 2014 Monochrome Awards received nearly 7000 submissions from 86 countries around the world. Winning images were selected by panel of international judges, including: Ted Preuss, David Fokos, Roman Loranc, David Johndrow, Stefano Brunesci, Tomasz Lazar, Dominique Bollinger, Andre Brito, Giacomo Brunelli and Martin Stavars.

Les 15 gagnants du concours Animan-Canon 2008 Plus de 5000 images! 

Depuis le début du concours, il y a une année, nous avons reçu via Internet plus de 5000 images. Près de 200 d’entre elles furent sélectionnées pour la finale. L’image gagnante, signée de Marcello Libra, a recueilli l’unanimité. Les lignes de force créées par le vol de l’oiseau et le mouvement des flots lui confèrent un dynamisme qui fascine, les nuances du bleu une élégance très séduisante. A elle seule, cette image démontre que la beauté ne dépend pas de l’originalité – la vision d’un oiseau qui vole n’est pas rare – mais de la créativité: la beauté attend là où on sait la voir. Et, puisqu’il s’agit de photographie, le regard doit s’appuyer sur une parfaite maîtrise technique, en l’occurrence la capacité à suivre – filer – un mouvement rapide, tout en ayant conscience de son environnement. Les gagnants des catégories Faune, Paysage et flore l’ont emporté, l’un par la vivacité de la scène et de la lumière, l’autre par la délicatesse du graphisme. Le gagnant de la catégorie Scènes de vie s’est imposé sans mal, car face à peu de concurrents, comme si photographier les êtres humains restait décidément la chose la plus difficile. Nella Valle Verzasca la pietra occupa uno spazio molto importante. Nel corso dei secoli gli uomini hanno cercato di strappare al paesaggio dominato dalle pietre prati e pascoli dove far pascolare il bestiame e dove tagliare il fieno. Ne sono nati innumerevoli muri a secco, visibili ancora oggi e che caratterizzano il paesaggio verzaschese. Ingegnosamente, l’uomo ha inoltre cercato di utilizzare taluni massi sfruttandoli sia come sprügh (rifugi per uomini e animali); sia, talvolta, come orti rialzati, inaccessibili al bestiame. Non è raro, infine, l’uso di piode, anche di grandi o grandissime dimensioni, per realizzare coperture e scalinate.
